Anything you do, cross-post to your social media accounts. Every time you make a call, for example, send a tweet tagging @NationalADAPT and the Senator you called, with a message like:
@RealNatlADAPT I just called @JerryMoran to tell him funding HCBS and Money Follows the Person must be priorities when the Senate comes back into session. #DisabledNotDisposable #ADAPTandSurvive
If you can get a small group together to responsibly and safely deliver messages to the local or DC office for the Senator, or stand outside the office location with signs, be sure to send photos and updates through ADAPT National social media forums.
You could set up your own “town hall” using an online platform to get people together to talk about the need to fund Home and Community Based Services and/or how Money Follows the Person helped them move into their own homes and invite Senators to listen.
You could organize a “phone bank” to reach out to local advocates, asking them to make the call or send email messages to Senators right now.
Make signs and post pictures with messages to Senators. (Be sure to include text descriptions when posting to social media) Tag the Senators and ADAPT National.
When you see social media posts from other ADAPT National members, re-post and/or share those posts.
